The 10th Mountain huts, Summit huts, and Hinsdale Haute system huts range in character from yurts to quaint rustic cabins to classy backcountry lodges. Access during the winter is by ski touring, splitboarding, or snowshoeing.
Our Colorado backcountry skiing trips combine these warm and comfortable backcountry huts and their authentic mountain settings, together with access to exceptional backcountry skiing and snowboarding terrain to form truly unforgettable experiences. Relax with a fresh brewed cup of tea while overlooking a thick forested panorama, enjoy hearty meals cooked by your guides on a wood-fired stove. And we highly recommend the guided day ski tours!
Colorado hut to hut tours continue to grow in popularity; experiencing a backcountry hut tour with our ski guides is a great way to connect with the wilderness, increase your knowledge in winter preparedness and avalanche awareness, and have a great time in the Colorado backcountry.
Spectacular terrain bordering hut areas offer extensive options for backcountry skiing and riding for all ability levels. Hut trips can also be combined with AAA (American Avalanche Association) compliant avalanche curriculum to add formal education to your trip. Consider renting a private hut; our guides can stay in a nearby cabin while you relax in seclusion. They can even bring you firewood and food as needed.
No experience is necessary. We serve all ages, abilities and fitness levels. If your child is too small for a size 1 boot we have a Kinder Shuttle that can accommodate 2 children to tag along with us in a weather protected sled. We provide all transportation to and from your hotel in the Vail Valley.

Pricing for non pre-scheduled trips is per person, per day.

Eiseman Hut - Located North of Vail Resort and the Vail Valley, this hut offers a plethora of skiing and riding right out the door. Open slopes, tree skiing and mountain summit tours for all ability levels await. With approach views overlooking the ski area, real backcountry solitude and 16 beds, this is one of the finest of the 10th Mountain Division Huts.
