Beginner rock climbing in Colorado with one of our professional guides is a great way to build a foundation of basic rock climbing skills. From low angled slabs to featured walls and crack climbs, Apex offers an excellent selection of beginner rock climbing routes.
Your Apex guide can also take you to the indoor climbing gym for a warm up day before your outdoor Colorado rock climbing adventure.

After an orientation, we’ll warm up on low angle climbing routes, developing fundamental skills before moving on to graduated techniques tailored to your interests and goals. We can also provide an intermediate rock climbing course for those desiring to further their technical rock climbing skills and knowledge.
In our beginner rock climbing course, topics may include:
• basics of gear, and how to use it
• tying simple knots
• safe belaying and lowering
• proper communication
• how to rock climb; movement and technique
• how to rappel

Apex’s beginner rock climbing course is offered to all age, ability, and fitness levels. No experience is necessary for this introduction to Colorado rock climbing. Transportation to and from your doorstep, a private guide, and all the technical rock climbing gear you will need (rock climbing shoes, ropes, helmets, harnesses, etc.) are included.

Pricing is per person, day (8am-12pm or 1pm-5pm), per guide. Max ratio is 1 guide to 5 clients.
