Description

Nestled into the northern San Juan Mountains of Colorado, the Sherman Climb beckons to those climbers who are up to the task. A beautiful approach through aspens leads you to the base of the route. Above, deep blue waterfall ice cascades several hundred feet down the northeast flank of Half Peak. Follow your guide up four pitches of pristine ice in this wild setting. Descend the route via rappel, or if conditions allow, continue up the gully to the summit! This route offers a little bit of everything including lower angle slabs, snowfields, and a steep pillar at the top.  Whether you are a first time multi-pitch ice climber or a seasoned veteran, Apex Mountain School’s professional guides will make this an outing to remember. We place a strong emphasis on client care and attention to our guest’s security and safety.

This is a 2 day trip, with one day of alpine skills instruction, and one day to climb the route and continue on to the summit. We are always very excited to work with you on any goals and ambitions you may have. Give us a call for help planning this memorable and unique ice climb.

Prior ice climbing experience necessary.
