APEX MOUNTAIN SCHOOL GUIDE

Erik Gomez

“My friend and I were attempting to climb a peak in 10 mile range. We ended up digging a treewell bivy to spend the night in while we were hit by a storm. Eventually the storm cleared a bit; we took a walk up to check the view and found a perfect spot for a megamit tent. A huge relief compared to a tree well. We never summited because of bad snow conditions”.

In 2012, Erik Gomez moved from New Jersey to Colorado to pursue his climbing passions. Since then he has also completed a degree in Outdoor Recreation and Leadership with Colorado Mountain College in Leadville, CO.

Erik has climbed all over the country but his favorite spots are right here in Colorado! In his free time you will catch him somewhere climbing on rocks. Come winter, Erik prefers to take long walks in the mountains and scale up frozen waterfalls!

Erik is Hispanic and Norwegian, he loves burgers, and has worked for a charity serving food. His favorite sports are ice climbing in the winter and rock climbing in the summer.
