Ben Ammon
Ben Ammon was born and raised in Colorado and went to college at Western Colorado University in Gunnison, CO. There he studied Biology and Chemistry, was a Lead Instructor for Wilderness Pursuits, and was an active member of the Western Mountain Rescue Team. He has climbed and skied extensively in Colorado, Utah, the Pacific Northwest, as well as Alaska and Peru.
Ben lives in Crested Butte, CO, and in the winter works as a Ski Patroller, Avalanche Educator, as well as guiding ice climbing and backcountry skiing. He spends his summers guiding on Denali, Mt. Rainier, in the North Cascades, and at home in Colorado. In the spring and the fall, he can be found chasing warm-weather rock climbing around the Western US, and will often disappear for days or weeks to explore the large desert rivers of the Southwest and their canyons.
Snow and teaching are still Ben’s favorite things and he hopes to meet you in an Avalanche Course this winter!
