With a deep connection to the history of ice climbing and the development of Mixed Climbing, Vail Ice Climbing areas offer adrenaline pumping rewards with both ice and mixed climbing routes. With ease of access and a multitude of challenging levels, this area is sure to make your introduction to this exciting sport an adventure of a lifetime. A full body balancing act supporting all of your weight on four half centimeter wide points at the tips of your crampons and ice tools, allows you to move upward on minute ledges of rock to reach small sections of ice. Mixed Climbing is an activity that is sure to challenge your mind and athleticism. Climbs range from 30 to 100+ feet in height, and offer a challenge for all skill levels and experience.
